I speak in the target language (Russian or English) 90% of the time. I adjust my language to the student’s level of comprehension, so that their skills stretch and build on gradually as they acquire the language naturally.

I make great use of real-life multimedia materials: scenes from films, cartoons, songs, popular TV shows, etc, etc, etc!

The key objective of my lessons is

to prepare the learner for practical communication in real life situations, with focus on learners’ goals, preferences and his or her speaking skills.

This objective is achieved through the following key principles:

  • the maximum use of the target language (adapted to your level)
  • explanations are clear and to the point
  • grammar as a means of communication
  • maximum learner participation
  • goal-oriented, lively instruction based on the learner’s needs and interests.

The key principles are implemented through the key teaching techniques below

  • balance of fluency and accuracy activities;
  • rich selection of language-learning tasks;
  • practical and communicative involvement.

Last but not least, I am flexible and adaptable to the demands of a situation. I am person-oriented: I develop and maintain positive working relationships with my students by being available and punctual, personally seeking to add value in every assignment and respecting the opinions of others.
